Some summers are remembered through journeys, while others are written through experiences. For the youth of the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Hong Duc University, the 2026 Green Summer Campaign in Van Nho Commune, Thanh Hoa Province, was a journey of dedication, sharing, and personal growth.

From July 20 to 23, 2026, more than 40 youth union members, students, staff members, and lecturers from the Faculty of Foreign Languages carried out a range of meaningful projects and activities, contributing to the local community in the areas of social welfare, digital transformation, education, environmental protection, and new-style rural development.

The campaign was officially launched at Hong Duc University on the morning of July 20, 2026, with the participation of M.A. Truong Ngoc Binh, Secretary of the University Youth Union; Ph.D. Vu Van Duan, President of the University Students’ Association; Ph.D. Nguyen Thanh Minh, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages; and M.A. Do Thi Thanh Huyen, Secretary of the Faculty Youth Union. Following the launch ceremony, the volunteer team travelled to Van Nho Primary School, where a local launch ceremony was held in the presence of representatives of the commune leadership, the school’s Board of Management, and representatives of local departments, organizations, and unions. At the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Faculty Youth Union and a lecturer of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, assigned tasks to the volunteers and encouraged them to promote solidarity and responsibility and successfully accomplish the campaign’s objectives.

In celebration of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2026), on July 21, the volunteer team collaborated with the Van Nho Commune Military Command and the Van Nho Commune Youth Union to clean and renovate the grounds of the Monument to Heroic Martyrs. This activity contributed to maintaining a green, clean, and beautiful environment while promoting the tradition of gratitude and the Vietnamese moral principle of “When drinking water, remember its source.” On the same day, the team also worked with the Van Nho Commune Police to support digital transformation initiatives. Five volunteer teams were established in Kha, Van Thanh, Bo Hieng, Chuong Cai, and Keo Hieng Villages, directly assisting approximately 300–350 local residents with installing and activating the VNeID application, integrating the Electronic Health Record and health insurance card, and learning how to use various digital services.

During their time at Van Nho Primary School, the youth union members and students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages became “sowers of knowledge.” English classes featuring games, songs, communication activities, and pronunciation practice brought lively and engaging learning experiences to the pupils, helping them develop a greater interest in English and become more confident in communication.

The journey of spreading knowledge continued with the youth project “English Learning Hub.” More than 600 English books, storybooks, and learning materials donated by lecturers of the Faculty of Foreign Languages were sorted, arranged, and transformed by youth union members and students into a welcoming reading space for pupils at Van Nho Primary School. The sight of pupils excitedly choosing and engrossed in reading their first books was a clear testament to the practical significance of the project. In addition, youth union members and students worked with local youth union members and young people to conduct general clean-up activities, collect waste, and improve roads in Van Tien and Ky Tan Villages, Van Nho Commune, contributing to the development of a green, clean, and beautiful rural landscape.
