On the morning of August 28, 2026, the conference was officially opened with the participation of more than 1,000 delegates. The event was jointly organized by the VietTESOL Association, the National Foreign Language Project, and the University of Foreign Language Studies – The University of Danang, providing an important academic forum for researchers and educators to share recent research findings, exchange practical experiences, and propose solutions to advance English language education in the new era.

Against the backdrop of Vietnam's ongoing roadmap to promote English as a second language in schools during the 2025–2035 period, with a vision to 2045, the theme of VietTESOL 2026 was particularly timely and relevant. The conference addressed not only strategic and policy issues but also facilitated academic discussions on teaching methodologies, teacher development, technology integration, language research, and pedagogical solutions appropriate to the transition from English as a foreign language toward English as a second language.
Participation in and contribution of research papers to the conference were carried out in accordance with Official Dispatch No. 39/ĐANN-HTQT, which called for universities, higher education institutions, and colleges nationwide to nominate staff members to submit papers and deliver research presentations at the conference. This initiative plays an important role in mobilizing educational institutions and academic professionals across the country to engage in research, exchange perspectives, and propose directions and solutions for the ongoing reform and development of English language education.
In response to the spirit of the Official Dispatch and with the attention and support of Hong Duc University, four lecturers from the Faculty of Foreign Languages participated in submitting papers and delivering research presentations at the VietTESOL 2026 International Conference:

The studies presented by lecturers from the Faculty of Foreign Languages demonstrated strong alignment with the overarching theme of the conference and addressed pressing issues in English language education from diverse perspectives. Collectively, the presentations provided a multidimensional view of contemporary English language education, ranging from reviewing and synthesizing existing research and identifying challenges in English-medium education and the process of promoting English as a second language in schools, to assessing teachers' competencies and professional development needs and proposing pedagogical strategies and solutions to enhance the effectiveness of English language teaching and learning.
Notably, in recognition of their professional expertise and academic experience, Dr. Nguyen Thi Quyet and Dr. Vu Thi Loan were invited by the Conference Organizing Committee to serve as Moderators, directly coordinating research presentation sessions at the conference. In this capacity, the two lecturers facilitated academic exchanges, coordinated session activities, and supported presenters in sharing their research findings while encouraging scholarly discussion among researchers, experts, and delegates. Being entrusted by the Organizing Committee with the responsibility of moderating conference sessions represents a meaningful recognition of the professional expertise, research experience, and academic standing of the lecturers from the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Hong Duc University.
