At the beginning of the session, Dr. Nguyen Thi Quyet, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, presented an overview of the Cycle 2 self-assessment results for the English Language Teacher Education program. The report highlighted key aspects of the program, including training objectives, learning outcomes, curriculum structure, teaching staff, facilities, quality assurance activities, as well as the program’s strengths, limitations, and future improvement plans. Accordingly, the program has undergone a number of positive adjustments to better meet practical demands and enhance students’ professional competencies.
Following the presentation, representatives from various functional departments provided feedback focusing on the completion of supporting evidence, standardization of data, updates to newly issued regulations, and strengthening the coherence among courses within the curriculum. Several participants also emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation with educational institutions and enterprises to improve the practical relevance of the program.
In addition, delegates proposed several recommendations to further refine the self-assessment report, ensuring logical structure, consistency, and full compliance with accreditation criteria. All comments reflected a constructive and responsible spirit, sharing the common goal of improving the university’s training quality.
In his concluding remarks, the President acknowledged and highly appreciated the thorough preparation made by the Faculty of Foreign Languages, as well as the thoughtful contributions from related units. He requested the Faculty to fully incorporate the feedback and promptly finalize the report to ensure both progress and quality in accordance with the proposed requirements.
The meeting concluded in a serious and productive atmosphere, making an important contribution to the university’s efforts to assure and enhance the quality of the English Language Teacher Education program in the coming time.
