The 2026 Faculty of Foreign Languages Volleyball Tournament: Exciting matches, strong team spirit, and memorable emotions

In a joyful, united, and energetic atmosphere, on May 17, 2026, the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Hong Duc University successfully organized the 2026 Volleyball Tournament with the enthusiastic participation of faculty members, lecturers, and staff of the Faculty. Notably, this year’s tournament was held earlier than usual as a meaningful activity to express gratitude and bid farewell to Fulbright Teaching Assistant Lynna Vo before her return home after a period of working and accompanying the Faculty of Foreign Languages.

This year’s tournament brought together four teams representing different divisions and joint units within the Faculty, including the Division of Non-major Foreign Languages, the Division of Skills Development, the Division of Language, Culture and English Teaching Methodology, and a joint team of the Chinese Language Division and the male staff of the Faculty of Foreign Languages. The teams competed in a round-robin format, creating a series of exciting, dramatic, and entertaining matches.

From the very first matches, the teams created an exciting atmosphere with their enthusiastic spirit, fair play, and strong determination. Impressive rallies, skillful coordination, and enthusiastic cheers from the audience made the competition venue vibrant and lively throughout the tournament. More than just a sporting event to promote physical well-being, the tournament also provided a valuable opportunity for faculty members and lecturers to interact, strengthen solidarity, and foster team spirit within the Faculty.

After a series of intense and competitive matches, the Division of Non-major Foreign Languages outstandingly won the First Prize thanks to their consistent performance, effective teamwork, and enduring competitive spirit. The Second Prize went to the Division of Skills Development, whose players impressed the audience with remarkable rallies and well-planned strategies. The Division of Language, Culture and English Teaching Methodology secured the Third Prize, while the joint team of the Chinese Language Division and the male staff of the Faculty of Foreign Languages received the Consolation Prize in recognition of their enthusiastic and dedicated participation.

Beyond its professional and recreational significance, this year’s tournament also carried special emotional meaning as it served as an opportunity for the Faculty of Foreign Languages to express sincere gratitude to Fulbright Teaching Assistant Lynna Vo. During her time working with the Faculty, she actively participated in academic activities, supported students in improving their English skills, and contributed to creating a dynamic, modern, and friendly learning environment. Her friendliness, enthusiasm, and sociable spirit left a lasting impression on both colleagues and students.

Following the matches, the Faculty of Foreign Languages held a friendly gathering and award ceremony for the participating teams. The event took place in a warm and cheerful atmosphere filled with memorable moments. Representatives of the Faculty leadership presented commemorative flags and prizes to the winning teams, while also extending their best wishes for good health and success to all faculty members, lecturers, and Fulbright Teaching Assistant Lynna Vo in their future journeys.
